The Zephyr Project is a program of the Feather River Rail Society.

The mission of the project is to preserve the history of the California Zephyr passenger train and its people through the protection, restoration and presentation of its artifacts, events and rolling stock.

CZ diner "Silver Plate" acquired by the FRRS!

The last, fully intact dining car surviving from the CZ, the "Silver Plate", has been acquired by the Feather River Rail Society as part of the Zephyr Project.  The car will be assessed in the coming months and then opened for the public for the first time in over 20 years.

In addition, WP locomotive 805-A now has its dynamic braking system reinstalled.

We have several events in the works to celebrate this coming anniversary in early 2009.  Your assistance can help us get the California Zephyr back on rails.  Some recent donations and a dedicated team are helping get WP locomotive 805-A mainline ready, but more support is needed.
